Introduction to JobAdder Integration & Jobs Post Type

JobAdder Integration & Jobs Post Type is a premium Wordpress Plugin that adds a Custom Post Type of Jobs to WordPress for job postings and pulls job details from JobAdder into the custom Job Posts using an API Integration.

Getting Started Guide

 To begin, log into your Wordpress dashboard. From there go to plugins, and add new plugin:

From there go to “Upload Plugin”

 

In the box that appears, use the “choose file” button to select the curious-jobadder.zip file. Then click install now. Then click “activate”.

 

Once the plugin is installed, you will see the Job’s area in the dashboard:

From there, you will need to set up your JobAdder API Settings, found under the JobAdder Settings area. Here you need to input the Client ID and the Client Secret you have gotten from JobAdder, and click “Connect with JobAdder”:

Once Connected you should then see your Job Board settings on that page. Allowing you to chose with active boards you would like to pull Job listings through into your website:

The API will now import any new job postings and create them under the “Jobs” Custom Post Type.

By default, it will pull through the Job Title, Job Type, Job Location, Job Sector, Job Excerpt, Job Description, Job Reference, Job Expiry Date, a more information URL and a Job Application URL.

To Manually Create a Job

As a back up to importing job listings from JobAdder, you can also manually create a job with our plugin.

To do so, go to the Job’s sub navigation in the Wordpress dashboard:

From there, cluck on the “Add New’. This will take you to the new Job post page.

This is a classic Gutenberg blocks builder page, with a custom “Jobs Details” Block at the bottom:

Here you can add the individual reference number from JobAdder, the Expiry date, a more information URL and an Application URL. This page can have any Gutenberg block, just like any other WordPress post.

On the sidebar of the page, you will find where to add individual Sectors, Locations and Types:

Above this you can also find the area to add an excerpt, a short description of your job listing, that will show up on the job listing archive:

After creating your job, click publish, and it will be pushed live.

On the front end, your post will show your title, publish date and all content you created. The Job meta data will be displayed in a sidebar. “Apply” and “More Information” buttons are displayed at the bottom of the post:

You will now have a Job Archive, located at /jobs/, that will show the job title, date, type, location, sector and excerpt:
